Vai Raja Vai tamil movie features an ensemble this movie cast that includes Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand in the lead roles. Taapsee Pannu and Daniel Balaji were chosen to perform as guest appearances in this movie. Initially, director Aishwarya ran towards Atharvaa to assign him the leading role in this movie but due to schedule conflicts raised in between, Atharvaa was unable to work on the project which allowed Gautham Karthik to play the male lead. Production house announced that Priya Anand was going to be the female lead opposite Gautham in the film. Velraj was confirmed as cinematographer for this movie. Director Vasanth was pulled in as Gautham’s father to make his as acting debut, while choreographer Gayathri Raguram was signed to play Gautham’s sister, making her return as an actress after a ten-year hiatus.
But however, heroine Taapsee’s role would be a surprise element in this movie as for the first time she playing a character with a complete negative shade within. Recently, heroine Tapsee stated that she was not playing the villain in the film but “an aloof girl who is a regular at casinos”. In November 2014, Dhanush also shot for a cameo role, reprising his role he played in the film Pudhupettai, Kokki Kumar. Dhanush will be seen in totally different avatar playing a don!
