K Balachander Died | Passed away  due to health issues

Dadhasaheb Phalke award winning filmmaker K Balachander was admitted to a private hospital in the city after suffering from high fever and age-related health problems.

.It’s 84. It was a disease for a while and breathed his last breath at Kauvery Chennai hospital. Kailasam his son also died this year.

“He was treated at the hospital today. At present, it is stable and all necessary treatments are given,” said a bulletin from the hospital.

Kailasam Balachander (born July 9, 1930) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer who works mainly in the Tamil film industry. Well known for his film style separate decision, south Indian film industry is known as a master of unconventional themes and powerful subjects in contemporary times. His films are well known for its representation of women as central characters and bold personalities. Popularly called Iyakkunar Sigaram ((lit) The director who climbed the peak), his films tend to focus on unusual or complex interpersonal relationships and social themes. From his film career as a screenwriter, Balachander soon graduate as a director with Neerkumizhi in 1965. In a career that spans 45 years, he helped to nearly 100 feature films either as screenwriter or director, becoming one the most prolific filmmakers in the country. Known among his colleagues as a hard task master, he is credited with having introduced and nurtured many actors, notably Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Saritha, Prakash Raj and Vivek.

In 2013, won nine Balachander National Film Awards and Filmfare Awards multiples. He was honored with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India, in 1987 and was awarded the National Award for the ANR and Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award in Indian cinema. K. Balachander is revered as one of the best directors in India has ever produced. His ideas were original and his subjects were complex ideas expressed in art.

Personal life:

Balachander Rajam married in 1956, while working at the General Accounting Office. The couple has two sons called Kailasam and Prasanna, and a daughter Pushpa Kandaswamy, who is the Chief executive officer (CEO) of their production house Kavithalaya Productions. Kailasam is a contractor Prasanna, a chartered accountant, is the director general and CEO of a leading bank in India.
